6-Oct-2000 Outreach Itinerary

October 6, 2000

Hello Friends!

News of our impending outreach trip to France...

We're still firming up places to stay (we've yet to actually have a confirmed place to lay our head) but believe that we have the basics of our itinerary in place. As such, I wanted to pass it on to all of you so that you knew where we were going to be. Primarily, our request is that you pray for our team. We're going to be a team of 19 traveling around France in 3 vehicles (2 vans and our car). We, of course, desire safe travel, but there are a handful of other important requests:

* Provision - there are still a few in our number who need more finances (significantly) for this trip, and of course we need affordable lodging * Protection - both physically (accident, injury, sickness) and spiritually (as much as we think God wants us going, we're sure that the devil is not quite as happy about it) * Wisdom - there are a myriad of choices we'll be making on this trip and we want to make God's choices * Humility - we know there will be inevitable conflicts among us and we desire humility, love and forgiveness to be hallmarks of our team and of our trip. Additionally, we want to be humble toward others that we come into contact with. * Strategy - our view of this trip is as a prayer journey and we want to be praying the things in each place that line up with God's strategy for that place

Our itinerary is as follows:

16-Oct - Drive to London from Paisley 17-Oct - London 18-Oct - London 19-Oct - Drive to Portsmouth; Ferry to Cherbourg; Drive to ? in Normandy for lodging 20-Oct - Normandy 21-Oct - Normandy 22-Oct - Normandy 23-Oct - Normandy 24-Oct - Normandy 25-Oct - Normandy 26-Oct - Normandy 27-Oct - Drive to Paris area 28-Oct - Paris 29-Oct - Paris 30-Oct - Paris 31-Oct - Paris 1-Nov - Paris 2-Nov - Paris 3-Nov - Paris 4-Nov - Drive to Lille 5-Nov - Lille - Heart for France Conference 6-Nov - Lille - Heart for France Conference 7-Nov - Lille - Heart for France Conference 8-Nov - Lille - Heart for France Conference 9-Nov - Lille - Heart for France Conference 10-Nov - Lille - Heart for France Conference 11-Nov - Drive to Troyes 12-Nov - Drive to Cluny 13-Nov - Cluny 14-Nov - Drive to St. Paul-Trois-Chateaux 15-Nov - St. Paul-Trois-Chateaux 16-Nov - Drive to Nice 17-Nov - Nice 18-Nov - Nice 19-Nov - Nice 20-Nov - Nice 21-Nov - Nice 22-Nov - Nice 23-Nov - Nice 24-Nov - Drive to Lyon 25-Nov - Drive to Paris 26-Nov - Drive to Zeebrugge, Belgium; take overnight ferry to Kingston-upon-Hull, England 27-Nov - Drive back to Paisley

Much of this is subject to change but it is the plan right now. During our time in Normandy, we'll be focusing on what happened there during WW II and the spiritual parallels that can be (and we think are being) drawn from that. Paris is obviously key to France and the entire French-speaking world in both the past and future. Our prayer time there will focus on significant places and events that have had an impact on the move of God in France. Our time in Lille will be primarily focused on the Heart for France conference. We hope to gain knowledge about what God is doing right now in France. We also hope to begin relationships with others who have a "Heart for France". From there we head towards the opposite tip of France. With stops along the way in Cluny (Cluny Abby) and St. Paul-Trois-Chateaux (YWAM base), we make the big trek to Nice. In Nice we desire to serve local churches through on-site prayer and practical helps. After that we go-go-go until we get back to Paisley.

At the end, we will have covered nearly 3500 miles and will have gained a wealth of experience and hopefully will have tapped into God's heart for France as well as how He wants to change OUR hearts!

I don't know our Internet connectivity situation for sure yet but hopefully we'll be able to give some interim e-mail updates prior to the end of the outreach.

Bless you!
David
