Leigh Family Prayer Bulletin - November 2007

Feedback...

I appreciate your prayers for our children. I believe that for all 3 of them, we've seen God move in their hearts in new ways in this last month. Of course part (all?) of that is your prayers for us parents as well since seeing what God is doing is sometimes all that is really needed. I know that my ability to see the movements of my children's hearts has increased. I'm happy to see better if that's all it takes as well!

Our time of teaching/practice of "worshiping intercession" at church should start this month. It looks like it will be 1-2 times a month depending upon the month and what is already scheduled at church.

At school, there are 2 fathers who both run small IT businesses. I've started to connect with both of them on an increasing basis and I think that this may be the beginnings of "technical team" that I'm looking for. May the Lord continue to direct this for His "practical" and heart-level purposes.

Well, this is the last day of October and the adventure of faith for our church here is still alive! The rent on both the old and new buildings was covered for this month. That, in itself, is a miracle and we praise God for it! So much lays ahead of us still, but that first step out into the "void" has been met with a firm footfall placed by the Lord. It brings a collective increase in faith for all of us. Thank you for your prayers!!!

Please Pray...

  • Home Improvement - Angela found some inexpensive wallpaper to replace what we have in our bedroom. This has sparked a flurry of good intentions and plans! This week we're off school so Angela wants to remove the old wallpaper as she has her French pen pal friend coming from Paris in a few weeks to help her put up the new wallpaper. In laying bare the plaster wall anyway, we want to take advantage of the "raw wall" put in a new/updated electrical circuit in the room. It's Wednesday already and we've done none of it! Angela's had a bad cold and that's pretty much sapped her strength and kept us from tearing up the bedroom yet. So we'd appreciate your prayers for her health and for the "spirit of home improvement" to flood our house this month...especially this week! ;)

  • Worship/Intercession - This month will be full with worship and intercession at our church. We rejoice about that and at the same time it's challenging because we're involved in much of it! This Sunday, we lead worship at church. Next Friday evening (9th), the church begins a monthly intercession time for Israel and the nations. Next Saturday and Sunday (10th, 11th) we have Roger and Sue Mitchell with us at church, and intercession for Europe, for which Roger is a key player will be a part of that weekend. The 16th is our monthly 4-hour "worship tabernacle". I think the 24th will be the beginning of our "worshiping intercession" times with the youth. We lead worship on Sunday the 25th as well. Additionally there are the usual Monday morning worship times at the junior high chapel service at school, the monthly Soultz intercession group, and the weekly intercession team at the church. God is stirring the worship and intercession pot! Please pray for anointing to align our hearts with the Lord's during these times and for more workers in His harvest! We need them now :!:

  • Technology Work - In addition to home improvement at home, I'm working on "network/server improvement" at school. I'm trying to consecrate my time at school this week (during school vacation) to advancing in the area of future network/server improvements. I don't expect to make great changes this week as I don't really have the time to fully complete and test anything. But I really do want to focus on learning and configuring new things. Please pray that I would patiently walk through all the steps necessary to learn how to do this right. I'm often focused on being "done" with something and looking for the quick solution. I don't think there is one here, so I need to work differently than is my usual "bent".

  • Church Steps of Faith - This month, much needs to be done with respect to renovation of the new building so that we can actually move over there. We're committed to doing this in a way that doesn't sap the life from families and marriages of those who do the work but in ways that bring life. The challenges are many and yet we know that God is even greater. Please pray for extra financial provision for building supplies, additional skilled labor, and especially the protection on family relationships for those most actively involved in the work.

  • Finances - If you don't travel much, you may or may not be aware of the issue of the exchange rate of the dollar vs. other currencies. I don't know if it's world-wide, but at least in Western Europe, the value of the dollar is at an all time low. The exchange rates generally reflect a multitude of realities in the global socio-political-economic spheres. We know that God will shake everything in these spheres that can be shaken so that all that is left is submitted to Him. This includes economic systems at every level. I would ask that you would pray for missionaries you know from the USA with respect to their finances during these times of shaking. Our trust is in the Lord, but that doesn't negate God's desire that we come to Him and actively ask and seek for provision. On a specific level with us, I've been approached by a gentleman in our church who could funnel occasional translation and web site work my way. Because I don't have the "right to work" in France, how to pay me is in question at the moment. There is also a desire at our school to somehow help in this respect. Please pray that the administrative details that block God-sent provision would be removed and that God would get the glory in all our provision.

Ok, enough work for your knees for this month! :D

Until next time,
David
