Leigh Family Prayer Bulletin - August 2008

Feedback...

With Angela's long-awaited newsletter coming at the same time as my monthly bulletin, I'll try to keep it brief.

  • Noah, Olivia and I survived the month of my cooking and cleaning (emotional scars may surface in a few years!).
  • Angela is back safe and sound.
  • Rachel had a fabulous experience with the prayer-walk in Penn
  • Thrice-weekly worship session at church are rolling along (good to have Angela back on this one!)
  • Good progress made on the computer network at school
  • Thanks bunches for your prayers!!!

Please Pray...

  • Whither Noah? - Noah has been accepted to go to Black Forest Academy and we're all excited for him to have the kind of opportunities that BFA afforded Rachel. But...there's currently no room in the inn. The boy's dorms are all full at present. So Noah's on the waiting list. If that doesn't open up, option #2 is not quite so obvious. Please pray for an opening in a BFA boy's dorm for Noah for this fall.

  • Callus Continuity - Beginning tomorrow morning, we lead worship for the next three Sundays since I'm the only one foolish enough to not take a vacation! Add this to our worship times M-W-F and my finger tips, guitar strings and worshipful attitudes all need extra grace for the month of August! Please pray that ALL these times would be a sweet fragrance for our Lord.

  • The Neighbors - Sounds like a Bill Murray, Adam Sandler flic right?! Well, the neighbors who moved in a couple of months ago behind us have different sleeping patterns, two small children, a new born, a nicotine addiction and an anger problem. That's the short list. At the same time, we've been wondering if the exodus of our children and our (my) lack of renovation skills might be pointing us to a different house in the vicinity. But, the neighbors are also tugging on our heart and provoking us to prayer...mostly at seeing their broken family relationships. Please pray that we would see and feel for them what Jesus does and that we would have discernment about any desire to vacate the premises...especially on their account.

  • The intellectual sweat of automation - I'm forever astonished at how much work goes into labor-saving automation! Anyway, I've asked for prayer repeatedly for this, but I'm down to the final weeks of being able to upgrade our servers at school to facilitate any number of IT projects and easier IT management. I feel like I'm progressing steadily up the mountain, but often I feel like the mountain continues to grow higher underneath my feet. At this point my desire is simply that you pray as the Lord leads you and let me know what He tells you! ;-)

As our friends Rusty and Janet Richards say, "Pray Big!"
