Leigh Family Prayer Bulletin - September 2008

Feedback...

What a month!!!

  • As many of you know, Noah got into BFA!!! This blessing from God is such a source of joy for us. For me, it's a big smile and hug from our Heavenly Father. As of today, he's been there a week. Getting him settled went very well and now we await a report of his 1st week.
  • (quote from last month) "...I'm the only one foolish enough to not take a vacation..." Well, I finally took a week off by myself at a retreat house because of my exhaustion. You can read all about it in this blog post.
  • My exhaustion took me out for a week of being sick as well. All that to say that major changes on the computer network at school are still pending. I did however finally have one of the major breakthroughs that I needed to keep moving forward. God is good!
  • The worship times during the week and on Sundays were really good. God is faithful!

Please Pray...

I want to take a break from my usual "list" of things to pray for and simply lay out one word as a "prayer seed" for this month:

Adjustment

Everyone in our family right now is going through an adjustment. For some it's exciting new opportunities, for others it's simply different and for some it's a bit of a confusing fog.

Rachel - She began classes at the Art Institute of Indianapolis the 21st of August, is living with my parents, learning to drive, making new friends, working part-time, etc. Exciting times for her.

Noah - An English-speaking academic environment, living in a boy's dorm, has a roommate, likely only see us once a month. Radical but rich differences in his life.

Olivia - Living the life of an only-child for the first time, and at the same time gaining even more independence in her life, an official teenager only 4 months from now! 8-o

Angela - Not teaching this year. Stirred by other promptings in her heart with respect to worship and sowing into the lives of Jr. High students...but still waiting for more clarity.

David - No change on the surface with respect to responsibilities, but a strong internal call to pull back on "serving hours" and invest in "Mary of Bethany" hours (Luke 10:38-42). I still want to see the same Kingdom Projects take shape, but I've no energy left to invest in them right now...I need oil in my lamp (Matthew 25:1-13).

Our House - We are wondering if our current house is still the right one for us, so we're keeping our eye out for others in our town that come up for sale. Some possible adjustments here too.

Many, many thanks!
David
