(One of the mornings of "family worship" that we led last week in a camp in Switzerland - Ages from <1 to >70 from 17 different countries! A foretaste of eternity!)
We have so much to be thankful for from the month of July!! Our praise report includes:
- Rachel's Baptism
- Rachel turning 16
- Immigration progress
- My (David's) parents' visit
- Leading worship at a YWAM family camp in Switzerland
Thank you so much for your prayers. As parents we rejoice in what we see in Rachel's life as she pursues God and His plan for her with a whole heart.
As children ourselves, we've been so blessed to have my parents with us for 3 weeks and have them better understand us and our life on the mission field here in Europe.
God has assured us that He knows our situation and schedule. He arranged that the week in July when we were home and available, the immigration authorities in France scheduled their "home visit" to our house. This is part of process to become more firmly established in France and the visit seemed to go quite well. The end result of this, we hope, will be a more long-term and secure immigration status...and perhaps the right to work in France as well.
Our time at the YWAM "In Touch" family camp in Switzerland was a blessing for all of us as God was able to use our family in worship and children's ministry and to bring us into new relationships with people from around Europe both in and out of YWAM.

This month is a month of preparation for us. The school year begins the 29th of August, and between now and then, there is much to be done:
- Work on the house!
- Work on a worship vision for our church
- Work on worship teachings for school
- Prepare for English class at school
- Prepare for worship leading at school
- Finish arrangements for Rachel's on-line schooling
- Annual YWAM France staff conference
- Finances: To do any "constructive" (as opposed to "destructive") work on our house, we need some funds...first to pay several large, overdue bills, and then to buy paint, etc! Pray for attentive hearts as God speaks to us through our financial situation and provision to meet our needs.
- Worship: I (David) feel the nudge by God to begin teaching on the subject of worship at the kids' school every-other week. Pray for the right kids to sign-up and preparation grace! Additionally, we're seeing a new level of involvement in worship at our church and will be involved in helping determine the vision for worship there.
- Relationships: Our relationships in the Body of Christ in the area are deepening and those in the community are starting as well (no small thanks to Olivia and to our cats for making many of the initial contacts!!). Pray for God's purposes in both these important types of relationships.
- Reconciliation: Small pieces of French-German reconciliation activity are beginning to take shape for me. Already there are two invitations in September to specific French/German reconciliation activities in France and Germany. Additionally, there were relationships started in the camp in Switzerland. Please pray for discernment for what to be involved in and specific finances for travel where necessary.
- Car: Our car needs a check-up and probably has some significant work due on the engine (it's sounding pretty bad!). Please pray for the finances necessary to accomplish that and the heavenly "breakdown protection" until that time!
