Leigh Family Prayer Bulletin - March 2005

February 22, 2005

I'm a bit early this month because the next few days commence a stretch of time that's busy and challenging for me/us. We have real need of your prayers during this time. ;c)

Some quick praise reports are:

  • We've managed to find and buy a car that looks like it will be about 1/2 as expensive to operate and still gives us some of the flexibility we're looking for!
  • I was able to participate in a day of intercession in Strasbourg that I had thought conflicted with an item in my schedule. It was a tremendous blessing!
  • Angela and I were invited to lead worship at our friends' church in Strasbourg on Sunday to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of their church. That was a such an enjoyable time and a chance to cement some relationships and make some new ones.
  • We're in good health after a good 2 week vacation from school break.
  • We've made some progress on Rachel's school situation for next year (looming large on the horizon!)
  • Some success helping people with their computers...even a bit of money came from it...God is good!

Prayer Requests

  • Sell The Old Car - Pray for a quick sell at a fair price.
  • Web Sites - We are working on re-doing ours and at the same time re-doing the web site of the kids' school (Collège-Daniel). We're looking at some different technology and though I love doing that and I'm learning a LOT, it's important that we simply get it accomplished. Please pray for an efficient and effective use of my time and effective collaboration with Angela and others for the school site.
  • Rachel's Class Trip - Rachel's class at school will be taking a trip to visit another Christian school in England. They leave March 9th and will be gone for about a week. Please pray for travel safety and significant relational contacts with the Christian school in England. This is also a time where Rachel will have the opportunity to be a servant-leader to her class with translation. Pray for a willing heart and humility and strength for her.
  • Ministry Weekend Coordination - The team from the Reconciliation school last year will be coming for a weekend to speak at our church and the kids' school the weekend of March 19th. I will be coordinating much of it. I'm excited to be able to facilitate this ministry expanding in Alsace. Please pray for that weekend and effective ministry and logistics wisdom for me.
  • American High School Missions Team - Recently we were contacted by a group in the US of 16 students coming to France for a missions trip. Their 1st week scheduled in France had suddenly come up empty when a school canceled on them. They called us and asked if we could arrange a week for them in Alsace. With some trepidation, I said, "Yes!". Mostly because it's on my heart to connect the US with France and Europe and this is a practical way to be involved in doing so. So, I've plunged head-long into this frantic planning process for the team (total of 22 people) which arrives in Frankfurt March 5th and then leaves Alsace March 12th. Please pray for grace and wisdom and strength to plan according to what God wants for them and to be a practical help to them when they arrive. So far this has proved to be quite challenging but I believe it will also be rewarding. Please also pray for this team as they prepare and as they travel in France for nearly 3 weeks in March. This may be significant seed planted in these young people's hearts for missions in the future.
  • Berlin Reconciliation Trip - I've mentioned before that tomorrow night I leave for a 2 day trip to Berlin; returning on Saturday. This is to attend a meeting about the "African-European Reconciliation Process". I'm excited to be going and look for the Lord to use this trip in many ways. Pray for traveling safety, significant connections and a bit of a resurrection of my dormant German ;c)!
  • Worship Leading - Next week (M-F), I will be leading worship at a conference being held at our church. I'll have the help from a friend of my from Switzerland. Pray for the heart of a servant to minister worship to the Lord and to draw the people before Him. This could be quite tiring as well. Please pray for physical strength as well.
  • Family - As you can see, it's a bit of a full stretch for us. Pray especially for Angela and the Kids as they have to support this increased activity of mine during this time. Angela in particular will have to shoulder several responsibilities at the school without me. She will need strength and grace and patience!
  • 1st Love - Finally, but really primarily, pray that we would not be like the Ephesian church that forgot their 1st love. God saw their deeds but He said that He had something "against them". Personally, I don't want God "against" me in any way. I can think of no greater adversary! ;c) I'd rather have a report that said that all these deeds fell flat but the Leigh Family kept their 1st Love, Jesus...rather than "they did a great job!" and have God have something "against us". So pray that we keep the 1st commandment in 1st place and the 2nd in 2nd place!

Bless you all!
David (for your favorite "Soultzians")
