Leigh Family Prayer Newsletter - December 2004

December 1, 2004

A few "Hallelujahs!" for God's continued provision for us; continued grace in worship leading at school and some other opportunities (home group, men's retreat, etc.) as well; growing involvement in intercession at church, for the school, individually and in a group for Soultz, and this coming weekend with a team for the region in France and for France-Germany-Switzerland; deepening relationships here in the area. These are all answers to our prayers and yours! Thank you for standing with us!

Without taking anything away from the redemptive work of The Cross, I'm reminded during this season that we can often gloss over or forget the significance of Jesus's first sacrifice...that is sacrificing His divine privileges in the heavenlies to choose to be voluntarily incarnated as a helpless human baby. His demonstration, not of an act of humility but of an embrace of a humble state worthy of our deep comprehension and imitation. I pray that we all may increase in our depth of understanding Jesus in His humility during this season.

Prayer Requests

  • Teams - As you may remember, we're here in Alsace with YWAM but no other YWAMers! We've come "alone" but with a strong desire to join with others in the Body of Christ in a relational connection but with a specific Kingdom objective...e.g. increasing the worship of God in an area; intercessory prayer; discipling children; practical helps; strengthening families; teaching. Praise God, those relationships are starting! This weekend, I'll be meeting up for the first time with a team of intercessors in/for the region. This is perhaps the most specific, pure intercessory involvement I've ever had. Please pray for wisdom and grace in the team-building process andprotection for all involved as we pray specifically about where the enemy has gotten footholds in this region and between France-Germany-Switzerland.
  • Rachel's Schooling Next Year - We're continuing to do research right now. Thank you to all who have responded with your input, ideas and experiences. That helps! Pray for the ability to discern the right path for Rachel next year.
  • Health - Rachel was just diagnosed with Bronchitis and it's really got her down (and has had for a couple of weeks). In the last 2 weeks everyone in the family except for me (David) has been sick. Even our two new kittens need to see the vet soon as they have some symptoms of not being completely 100% right now. We appreciate your prayers to guard our health and strength.
  • Perseverance - until the Christmas break and we need God's refreshment and renewal during the break. We pray the same for you!
  • Residence Permit Renewal - As of this writing we turned in our dossier 2 weeks ago and are now waiting. We should be getting either a temporary permit or new ones any day now. Our current resident permits expire in 2 weeks. Please continue to pray for favor that we can continue to stay here for another year (and more!)
  • Happy Birthday Noah! - As of tomorrow we no longer have a 10-year-old-boy in the house. We enter the stage of 11! He's been chompin' at the bit for this day to come. Pray the Lord's blessing on Noah as we celebrate his life tomorrow! (Happy birthday to Aunt Jane too!)

A Joyous and Insightful Christmas to you!
David...for everyone...including the cats!
