Leigh Family Prayer Newsletter - April 2004

March 31, 2004

A new phase is upon us here in France! The lecture/theory part of the Reconciliation School has finished and now we change to a less-structured, and more challenging phase called Outreach! I emphasize less-structured because that is one of the things that challenges me (David) personally the most. This, for me at least, is a season where I need to learn to thrive with a minimum of imposed structure in my life.

I think, however, there is a truth for the Church in general here. There is a need for structure in the Church, but there is also a need to be able to be strong and effective when structure changes or when structure is lacking in a given situation. How do we react and act in ways that glorify God and show His love and His Kingdom principles in our lives and toward others. This is, for me, and for the Church, an issue of importance during this season.

Prayer Requests

  • Angela and the Kids - One of the reasons life will be less structured for me...especially in April...is that Angela and the kids are visiting the States for three weeks. Itinerary: Fly to Phoenix April 6th; Fly to Indianapolis April 13th; Fly to Phoenix April 17th; Fly to me April 23rd. Pray for God's protection and God's anointing on this trip.
  • Reconciliation School Outreach - The staff and students of the school are splitting into several teams who will be going to: The USA, France (several areas) and Switzerland. This is another time where we need to be effective at the same time we're being flexible! Pray for team unity, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, effectiveness, finances and protection.
  • Our Next Move - Man! I'm getting tired of saying that! But it's true. Our sites are set on Alsace now and we've much to do to prepare for this move: French government bureaucracy; Deciding weather we buy or rent; Finances for either; Ministry specifics there in Alsace (certainly no shortage of need!); Relational connections; Moving logistics...I think you know the routine by now! ;c) I do pray that this is our last move in a long time...but the Lord knows what we need.
  • The Passion Movie - It opens in France today! As it leaves US soil and opens elsewhere, pray for its effectiveness in other cultures. I'm excited to see what can happen!

Love,
David and the family
