Prayer Points for August, 2002

French Visas: We've been notified that Angela's and my visas are ready, but more documentation about the kids enrollment at public school in France is required. Pray for a quick resolution to this (we've faxed what we have and would prefer not to have to procure even more documentation from Albertville) and quick arrival of the kids' visas.

Driving Test: As stated in our regular newsletter, I failed my initial driving test and have another one scheduled on August 21st. Pray that my heart will respond correctly to the stress of the occasion, and that God will work out what both Angela and I need with respect to driver's licenses in France.

School/Friends: Continue to pray that the Lord would be preparing friends for the kids in France. We want relationships that will provide support for our kids but also ones in which our children and family can speak into the lives of French families.

Moving Logistics: Our house rental logistics are nearly complete but our renter (a single missionary mom and 2 kids) needs to get the appropriate UK housing benefit to pay the rent. Our asking rent has been deemed reasonable but now she needs the same amount approved for her housing benefit.

Car and house insurance is proving to be a bit of a confusing morass as well. We could really use wisdom in making the right choices.

Getting our extra stuff to France has not been quite worked out yet. We have one shipping offer on the table which is quite expensive. We need a cheaper option! Pray for wisdom to know how to navigate these waters.

Getting ourselves to France also requires some wisdom. We currently have a request for a reduced fare for the ferry crossing under consideration. Pray that we select the best route for travel and for a good rate on ferries and lodging for the trip.

The Trip: We actually plan on leaving the 25th or 26th and arriving in Albertville on the 29th. Pray for a safe, breakdown-free trip and for a real family-bonding time in the car.
