Hello from Denver!
Let me start off by saying, "Thank You God!" for this last week. In it, our prayer support has doubled!! This is extremely exciting to me. We know how much it means to our family to have you all praying. We need it!
At the end of this email I've listed the day(s) that you have signed up for as a quick reminder and as a way to "see" the whole prayer team. If you don't find your name (only first names listed) and would like to sign up for a specific time to pray, just email me back and we'll set something up. Notice also that there are a handful of days free still. If God asks you to pray for two days, let me know and I'll get another day covered.
Please always pray as God directs you. His ideas are usually better than ours. Here are our ideas, however, for May:
* Health! Olivia is now on her 3rd round of antibiotics during this trip. We pray specifically for her immune system and for good rest at night...and protection for the rest of the family. * Health (2)..Angela has had some recurring headaches for a couple of years now. Recently she was diagnosed with some degenerative disks which the doctor believed to be the cause of these intermittent headaches. Apparently blood flow has been cut off to the disks and it causes the tissue to die. Pray for life in these disks and for the blood to flow again. * RIGHT NOW (attention first week prayers!), we're attending the annual Marriage Ministries International conference here in Denver. We consider this ministry to be strategic in our future. Today we couldn't go because of Olivia's health. Please pray that distractions would be eliminated this week and that our children would be blessed as they are cared for by a number of different friends. Also pray for open hearts on our part and strategic connections. We're looking forward to this week but it will be tiring! * We drive back to Indianapolis on Monday, May 6th and the kids may fly back on Friday, May 3rd (if we get cheap tix). Pray for traveling safety. * We teach a missionary Sunday School class on May 12th (Mother's day!) at my parent's church. Pray for wisdom and the words of the Lord. * We have a number of meetings with people in Indianapolis prior to returning to Scotland. Pray that these would be divine appointments for God's business. * We fly back on May 16th (arriving on the 17th). Pray for safe travel and divine appointments en route. * When we return, we jump into the world of getting our British drivers licenses. We need HUGE grace for this as we don't drive very British-ly right now! * We also need to get our French visas for language school in the fall. Pray for favor with the French consulate in Edinburgh that we would get the visas we need (our situation is not completely typical).
