Greetings from Indy!
Sounds funny to be writing from Indianapolis...from the U.S....
We arrived late on the 20th but with no real problems, and have been mostly recuperating from the flu. Olivia is still coughing quite a bit and David still feels the sinuses but is on the mend. Angela is doing pretty well. Rachel and Noah escaped unscathed.
We have another week or so in Indianapolis before we head towards Colorado for a month.
I (David) feel such a strong sense that we need your prayers now. There is a combined lethargy from getting over being sick and feeling as if we're "on vacation" (which we are a bit). For me, I feel as if I've lost my "spiritual edge". Angela shared the same thing with me. There is the overwhelming feeling of familiarity with the surroundings that sort of catches you "off guard". It's comfortable, but comfort doesn't keep you spiritually sharp...and I don't like that!
Our thanks for prayers answered:
* We're safely here! * We're getting healthy * Good, quality time with family so far (some special moments) * Kids getting good time with grandparents, cousins, etc. * Gracious use of cars from our parents (what a tremendous blessing!!!) * Getting taxes done (with some good advice from my Dad) * Getting on-line with a nearly free deal
Our requests for this coming month:
* The grace to overcome comfort and physical lethargy and press into God (the spirit is willing but...) * Continued family closeness as we live with extended family and friends (it's easy to be distracted...) * Traveling safety for our drive out to Denver (the weekend of April 5-7) * Wisdom to know whom to contact in Indianapolis and Denver * Grace to deal with the challenges of living "in community" for the next month and a half (both for us and those who host us!) * Low-cost flights for Angela and Olivia that will allow them to attend Angela's sister's wedding in August
You all are SO valuable to us! Thank you for your commitment to pray! David
p.s. - If you ever forget the day of the month you're signed up to pray for, just let me know and I'll tell you. I have them all on a calendar.
